Now I want an honest opinion. I know the FuryX2 hasn't come out yet, but please try to speculate.

I am going to be building a gaming PC for around $3500ish, and I would like to future proof it for 4k. Basically, I'd like to be able to hit a consistent 60 FPS in the highest settings at 4k in all the games I play. I will also be using the PC for the new Oculus Rift that is coming out. I will be buying my GPU's in unison with the i7 6700k CPU and top of the line hardware. So, down to the options.

1. 2x 980 TI MSI SeaHawk in SLI. The benchmarks for this card can be found here: http://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/2128-msi-sea-hawk-gtx-980-ti-review-and-benchmark Basically it's a recently released OC'ed and liquid cooled version of the 980 TI.

2. AMD's Fury X2 (ETA Late November 2015) Leaked Specs: http://wccftech.com/amd-r9-fury-x2-specs-gemini/ Another thing that makes me lean towards this card is the fact that AMD has made announcements recently about completely revamping Catalyst AND all their drivers. (http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2015/11/amd-radeon-software-crimson-a-new-name-and-a-new-look-for-catalyst/)

So, the question stands. What would you put into a future-proofed 4k gaming machine and why?

AMD isn't exactly revamping their drivers, just the driver suite software. I would do the 980Tis because they have more vRAM, the 980Ti performs better than the FuryX, and the FuryX2 will probably be so overpriced considering it'll be the single most powerful GPU on the market.

Some valid points, but won't the FuryX2 VRam stack to 8GB (more than enough for 4k)? Also price isn't an issue for me, just performance.
