What is the recommendation for a 27" monitor for home photo editing and office work? I want to get 3 monitors. I don't need the best to squeeze out every last detail, but I don't to be disappointed either.

Agreed. If this guide is going to be published sporadically only a few times per year, it seems terrible to publish it just now, with the PG279Q imminent (days away?), and I believe an update to the XB270HU imminent as well. The guide is going to be obsolete within a few days and then will remain that way for a few months?!? Readers beware.

along with the soon to be released AMD 380X.

You have news/links/anything regarding that 380X? I don't really see any motivation on the red side to release anything between the 380 and 390 right now since the general consensus is both cards are slightly beating their green counterpart

In a Standard 60Hz Monitors category in a QHD column you guys have something that's 2560x1080.
Are there actually any 2560x1440 suggestions?

I can buy, and might, the PG279Q locally, but haven't seen the X34 yet. Also, tftcentral did a great review of both of them, the X34 in Sept and PG279Q in Oct. That site still stands as the most in depth review/comparison for monitors;

Thanks for updating!

One thing I would like to see is an extra section with low-budget recommendations (say, best overall monitor for under $200).

Thanks for the update. It's cool to see my work screen on here, the Dell U3415W. Despite being IPS, there's still some (not much) color shift, but it's otherwise really amazing.

Ouch. This list pretty much sucks. About every single monitor is a crappy 6/8/10-bit BANDING monitor!! How about bothering with some 12-bit monitors with ZERO banding starting with 1980 x 1200 60Hz and higher?

Tom's is missing out by not reviewing the LG 31MU97-B monitor. This is true 4K IPS monitor that supports 10 bit color and 99.5% of Adobe RGB colorspace for a street price just above $1000. Seems like a breakthrough in performance for the price. And, No, I do not work for LG.

Still waiting for the Acer Predator Z35 review, this thing is a monster!

Curved 35", 21:9, 2560x1080, 144Hz (overclockable to 200Hz), G-Sync, VA panel (TN speed with IPS quality images)

Only one 16:10 monitor on the whole list. Oh my LCD manufacturers... You have continued to digress.
IPS 144mhz g-sync 16:10... Will the dream ever come true?

Looking for a standard 1080, 60hz monitor for a friend that's reasonably prices and not a size more commonly associated with a TV. This article disappoints in that regard.

The LG 34" UB67-B QHD LED-LCD UltraWide Monitor is a great monitor for $599.00 - Ive been using mine for 6 months and wouldnt go back to a 27" if it was FREE - This was the biggest monitor my graphics card could handle , something I almost missed CHECK the spec of your graphics card before you shed out a load of $$ for a monitor - youve been warned :)

Hi the link on this monitor review the AOC 2460PG is wrong and is directing you to a review of the AOC G2460PQU which is a non G-Sync monitor I know because I have one. Also the price is way out as it is currently $463 on Amazon whereas the AOC G2460PQU is $249. Perhaps it might be an idea if Toms Hardware checked all the reviews and links before publishing as recommending hardware on inaccurate information or old specs will lead people to buy the wrong gear. I know its tough as it is easy to get confused with Model numbers as they are often similar but a simple cross reference would help before publishing.
