ASUS VE247H 24 inch LED Widescreen with HDMI is flickering

This has been happening for the last couple of days or so. I bought the exact same monitor to use for a dual setup, and all was working fine until last Thursday (5th November). The monitor randomly flickers and then cuts out which carries on consistently. I have no ides what is happening. My new monitor doesn't do it, but the older one does (it is around 3 years old). Is it my outputs on the graphics card affecting it, the life cycle of the monitor has expired, or just a general issue that can be fixed?

Well first and easiest thing to check is the HDMI cable. Try swapping it.

I have changed all of the leads around. the problem still persisted
