Pleasse help, opinions and hear say are encouraged, with a new intel build

so I guess the big questions are do you think that ddr4 prices have leveled off and are intel's 6th gen worth it? either way I am looking at a new intel processor I have a 4670k

my current build is as follows ASUS hero VI mobo, 16gb patriot viper xmp 1866 ram, 4670k intel, Samsung 850 pro ssd, corsair 860axi psu, and a msi gtx 970 golden edition.

now my issues with the cpu is that I did a test I found on Tom's set up options in bios a certain way and if it will boot to windows without crashing your cpu is in the better 50% of the cpu's mine wouldn't boot and I am ocd about stuff like that. so I was looking at a 4690k, or 4790k now that the 6600k is out I really don't know what to think. my little bro wants me to build him a pc but instead I may sell him mine and start fresh. so I can go to ddr4 and have an m2 port for an upgrade later to a Samsung 950 ssd..

Can you provide a source on this? I've never heard of it.

There's only going to be a very small difference in performance. You'd be far better off getting a second 970.
