Help me chose a monitor/res

hopeing for some help in choosing a resolution and monitor,its my first build and im abit stuck on what to go with,specs are:

Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor
MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

really confused on what to go with a cheap 1440p,144hrt 1080p or just stick with a regular 1080p,budget is around £200-250 (to be honest this is only if it is worth goin with the 1440p monitor,if its just a regular 1080 budget would be about £150)
any advice and help is much appreciated

I recommend a 1080p 144HZ monitor, your card wont take advantage of those extra HZs in 1440p, and won't run most games at ultra/high with 60 + fps, but in 1080p it sure will, I recommend something like this one: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-umfg6aab01 ($236 144 hz (fps) 1080p 1 ms tn panel)

thx for the help but i was searching last night and found this AOC ​G2460PF it has all the feture u mentioned on the the acer but it all so has freesync for around £200 would the be a better option?

Sure get that! you have an amd card, so you will take advantage of freesync! It is in fact better..

I have the G-sync version of that monitor and love it, quite the show stopper.

It impresses everyone who sees it also, both my gaming and non gaming friends. Amazing Color and Smoothness is what you can expect.
