What kind of gaming desktop should I get?

I have a macbook air and I want a upgrade for christmas. Im not sure what to get I want it to be able to run mine craft really well. I want no lag and amazing graphics and high FPS. I also want good ping. With a 2000$ budget I can't find much. Please help!

There are many fine PCs for under 2000, but if you want a real good connection use an Ethernet cable or at least an AV2 MIMO capable powerline adapter, and not wireless.

I was playing Minecraft on a Macbook Pro 13" from 2012, and was getting I believe a solid 60 FPS, or at least above 40. However, I wasn't playing with any mods, so I can't comment on the performance increase or loss when you introduce mods.
