Can I get windows 10 free for another PC using the Microsoft Media Tool?

Hi,

On the Microsoft Media Tool, it allows me to download windows 10 to a USB and make it bootable. Does this mean i can then use this key on a new PC without an OS on it? Or will it only work on the PC i downloaded it from and will it require a product key?

It will require a valid license key, from a qualifying OS.
Either Win 7/8/8.1, or a purchase of Win 10.

For a whole new PC, you'll need to actually buy something.

It will be bootable on ANY PC. But you will only get a Windows 10 license per system you own running 7/8/8.1. you Will not get an additional License for a brand new pc. You can boot your new PC off the bootable USB but will need a license

I know MS was allowing those that joined the their Insiders Program to receive a free copy. Not sure if that program has resumed or not.. but that's something to check out.

Joining the Insider program ceased about 3 weeks prior to the July 29 launch of Win 10.
You can't do that anymore.
