Nvidia Pascal worth the wait?

Were on the brink of 2016 so is it worth waiting or should i just get a gtx 980 ti

What is you current card? You can wait but i'm sure by the time nvidia come out with Pascal there will be other reason making you wait instead of buying those card.

I would say yes(wait) if you're doing fine on integrated right now.
If you NEED a card get a lower end 100$ card for now wait for pascals BIG performance boosts and get a high end pascal card.

I honestly would wait pascal is not that that far off and if you really cant wait it out get a used gpu or a placeholder untill pascal comes..I dont see it worth getting the gtx 980 Ti due to whats coming

As I and others have said, Pascal is said to bring a very large performance boost over maxwell. So if you have the funds for a 980ti wait and get high end pascal, it should be much better. If you need a GPU over integrated go for a 100$ card as I said earlier. I would wait if I was you, I got the 980ti when the one I got came out and I will still get Pascal when it comes out. But choosing between them, go pascal.

I'd be careful, here's why, the Pascal architecture is no longer generic pci e, which means that you will most likely need a new mobo, which will mean that you may have to upgrade your cpu as well(most likely sky lake) which means that you will also need ddr4 so this could end up costing you a $1000 upgrade.

On regular consumer side pascal will continue to use PCI-E standard. Nvidia create nvlink to solve HPC specific issue not gaming application.
