Just upgraded to Windows 10, my sound works fine initially until the VIA HD Audio drivers are installed which happens after a restart or two. I've disabled automatic device driver downloads in the advanced system settings hoping that this would put an end to the problem but the driver is still being installed and consequently my sound isn't working at all.
So, thanks for the automatic updates Windows but can anyone think of a solution to this?
I've tried rolling back to the working driver "High Definition Audio Device", tried uninstalling the driver altogether and scanning for hardware changes but once the driver is installed the only solution I've found short of a fresh install is to System Restore.
