Do i need a new HDMI cable for my new 4K gaming tv?

So im getting a 55 inch phillips 4K tv and im going to use it for my gaming pc and my question is...
do i need to buy a new HDMI cable to get better framerates? im using a 32 inch tv right now and i bought it in 2013 with an hdmi cable alongside it. Ive heard things about 1,4 and 2,0 hdmi cables and i really dont know what i have. will it even mater for gaming? how do i know which one i have?

What GPU do you have? Only the Nvidia 960 and up have HDMI 2.0 so that's where it would matter. Also, what TV?

Hello, what TV is it? You should make sure it supports HDR, HDCP 2.2, HDMI 2.0a, HEVC. Very important for future content... A ton of TV buyers are burned because the major brands don't care about what they say as long as they make money.

Then yes, you will need a hdmi cord capable of supporting the bandwidth needed for hdmi 2.0, 4k@60hz. Usually any cable marked as "high speed" will do.

Does that mean i will only be able to get 60 FPS? and are there markings on the cable itself so i can check what one i currently have? i got it in 2013,were the 2.0 cables prettymuch standard back then?

4K is limited to 60fps right now, nothing can do more currently on the market. Any TV that markets 400hz and crap is all fancy marketing for the TV doing it's internal processing.
