I am looking into purchasing a 4 TB internal SATA drive and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for what drive to go with. I am looking for decent performance at a reasonable cost. I am guessing a decent drive will be between $150 - $200. I figure 7200 rpm will be sufficient since I won't be doing a lot of gaming, and this is is a device that will be used for storage.

I know that an SSD is going to give me the best performance, however this will be in addition to an SSD.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks for the info. Is this worth the extra cost? The warranty is great, but for general use how much of an impact would this have.

Looks like it's a difference of around $60 between the two drives.

WD Blue 4TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive (WD40EZRZ) $137
WD Black 4TB Performance Desktop (WD4003FZEX) $197

They also have a WD Blue SSHD but I am not seeing a lot of positive reviews on that.

The SSHD was designed as a boot drive.

The WD Blue is a good drive, too, but has 5400rpm and 2 years warranty.

The WD Blue will work great for streaming and storing date but should also be sufficient even for playing games.
