Just this black friday I purchased a LG 2437H 24" LED Monitor,1080p,1920x1080Resoluiton from Fry's electronics ( http://www.frys.com/product/8376927?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG ) and it was a replacement for my old 1240x768 monitor. It came with a VGA cable and we also purchased a brand new HDMI cable as well. By using our old and new VGA cables we run into a problem were we set it to 1920x1080 but the screen in shifted to the left leaving about 1cm long black bar on the right and on the bottom. With the HDMI we set it to 1920x1080 (recommended) and there are about 1" black bars on each 4 sides. All of my computers (custom built) hardware can be found here http://austinnotduncan.com/builds/photon/ . Thanks for any help in advance.

Solution
according to the manual for the monitor i saw on line there is an option for Overscan. This may also be in the option in the Drivers for the Graphics card. adjust accordingly to show the full 1080p image.
