I have inherited a 10-year old Sharp TV (CRT) but cannot setup with existing cable service. Apparently there are 3 input choices but none work. Any help is appreciated. Thanx.
A TV that old, would not have an HD tuner (ATSC). Your cable company may have dropped the old analog channels and you will have to have an HD TV tuner box or cable box.
Does your cable provider provide a set-top box for you to use? if so, post a pic of the back of it, and then the back of your tv. should be able to sort this out. You might need to run an HDMI to DVI cable, and then source the audio through the aux in on the tv. (or run the audio to your surround sound, soundbar, etc)
Watch the electricity consumption on that TV, I bought a secondhand CRT TV a few years ago, I forget what it was called but I paid £50 for it and it was absolutely top-end in it's day, and the speakers were still excellent, but OMG that thing devoured electricity. I dumped it and bought an LCD.
