Optimizing My RAM setup

Hey guys, I just purchased some more RAM because I wanted to finally get more then 4gb. I read multiple things that I could use a 1600mhz stick even though my motherboard is saying only 1333mhz. I went in to my BIOS and did the XMP thing and adjusted it to use 1600mhz and upon restart it brings me to a screen that says overclocking failed. So, I just turned it back down to auto just to get it to work. Also, I'm using two different brands of RAM, 1 set is 1600mhz while the other set is 1333mhz, and one is 12800 and the other is 10700. I cannot seem to find an exact answer, some people say this is ok (with setting changes) others say don't mix and match. I'm going to attach some CPU-Z images, and was hoping for a good discussion on what should I do to achieve the best results (although, I don't want to go overclocking crazy because I can't afford anything to screw up.)

Alright, makes since. Then let me ask you this....would I get better performance with my 8gb of g.skill set to 1600mhz? Or the combo of 12gb at 1333mhz. My biggest concern is that the two corsair sticks are negating the performance of the two g.skill sticks. Thanks.

You board don't support the 1600MHz, so you will not be able to run anything over 1333MHz. Anything you put in over 1333 will default back to that. Plus you can't overclock on a H67 board.

I gotcha. Makes sense, I just got confused when I was reading some other posts. Also, was just wondering what makes some boards able to be overclocked and some that cannot? Thanks.

Yeah, its been about a week and so far everything is just fine with all of them at 1333. I'm beginning to pick up some hobby game development and figured I could use more RAM.
