Suitable gaming monitor for this build?

Hi.

I have just completed my new gaming PC and am planning on buying a new monitor (during boxing day sales) to go with it.

Most places I've looked end up recommending the Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q 144Hz 27.0" Monitor.
As this would be at the absolute top end of my budget I'm looking for other suggestions.

I would also be interested to see how people would rank the different features of monitors in general for gaming purposes. Response time vs refresh rate vs resolution vs physical size vs gsync vs panel type vs colour gamut etc.

Thanks in advance for your input :)

I recently bought a BenQ XL2420Z. 144 Hz, 1 ms, 1920x1080. I love this monitor. I honestly don't care about gaming in 4k as I think 1080p on high settings is more than visually pleasing. 144 Hz can be achieved through DVI-D and DP.

Another similar monitor is the Asus VG248QE. Same specs, but imo, BenQ has more settings and better color options. I would recommend looking into both. Both are 24".
