I have a gtx 970 and for a while ive been uing an Acer s240hl, which has been good but im ready for something better. Ive looked at 1440p monitors but think my fps will dip too much, so i think higher refresh rates are the way to go. I am confused though, what would happen if i get a 100-144hz monitor and only get 70 fps, is it alright or what? Ive been looking at the ASUS VG248QE and not sure about the picture quality. Can anyone help? And also will i see a major improvement from my current monitor to this one, not only in fps but in display colors?

Solution
VG248QE is a great monitor. The picture quality is wonderful. And I often get 60 FPS or even less and it is completely okay, so no worries if you can't max it out.

HEy thanks for the reply, i ran a few tests and on games such as assassins creed syndicate on ultra im getting tight about 60, so i think maybe an IPS panel at 60hz might be the way to go, ill get back to you once ive mad a decision.
