AMD A6-5200 vs Intel Core i3 5020u vs Intel Pentium N3540

I am looking at 3 different laptops, 3 different brands, wanting to know which is the best deal for the price, which one should be faster, which one should be the best laptop (accounting for brand and all) and anything else.

My options are the following:

1) An HP with a AMD A6-5200 Quad Core Processor 2.0 GHZ , 2 MB Cache for $260
4 GB Ram 500 GB Hard Drive

or

2) An ASUS with an Intel Core i3-5020U Dual Core processor 2.2 GHZ , 3 MB Cache for $300
4 GB Ram 1TB Hard Drive

and the third option that is a little more expensive

3) A Toshiba with an Intel Pentium N3540 Quad Core Processor 2.66 GHZ , 2 MB Cache for $330
4 GB Ram 750 GB Hard Drive

Any help or advice would be great!

I should add that this will mainly be for internet and word processing, but I like to be able to have many tabs opened at once and not cause the whole machine to freeze up. This computer will also be used to view and organize pictures as well as possible to stream movies. Also its not out of the questions that I would do some light photo editing.

When I had to make that choice, I went with the Broadwell 5020U and am satisfied. Do all three of those systems have the same size and resolution screen?

Yes, all are 15.6" screens and 1366 x 768 resolution (HD).

The Pentium has four cores, but its base clock is only 2.16, not the 2.66 you have given. it has a Burst frequency, which is Turbo-boost-lite up to 2.66, but thst will be of limited value for what you are doing with it. The i3 5020u is a more modern lithography and has a 5 to 10% efficiency baked in. It also supports HDMI 1.4 and higher than 1080p displays, and more and faster memory.

Those are the reasons I chose it.

I lean towards the i3, but having a less than limited knowledge of processors, I just want to make sure I'm not missing something, or disregarding something important about the other 2 computers.

Let me add one more option, that I had previously ruled out I think, but I don't remember why:

A Toshiba AMD A8-6410 Quad Core 2GHZ , 2MB Cache for $270
4GB Ram 1TB Hard drive
Same screen specs I gave previously

How would it compare to the Asus with the i3??

They don't have benchmarks for the i3 5020U yet. I prefer the Broadwell for laptop use, for what you want to do.

You will also fine many good comparison game benchmarks for GPUs and iGPUs.
