A strange texture comes over the wallpaper sometimes

There is a strange texture that comes over the wallpaper of my desktop. This texture may come at any time and will stay for a time and go away as it wishes. There is no fixed time period. There is no program that causes it, (unless it is one of the processes that i missed). Got nothing on malware detection. I had a problem with a browser hijacker (feed.snap.do) and installed a lot of malware and registry cleaners to get rid of it. That problem seems to be gone but this started in the middle of me trying to get rid of that hijacker thing. Hope someone can help me here. Thanks in advance for any advice.
