USAFret pretty much nailed it.
Things below are based on my own asus laptop (TX300CA) and reflect my own opinions.
-smart gesture
adds more functionality to touchpad besides basic mouse stuff like pinch zoom and rotate and such
If you don't like those, you can safely uninstall it.
-Live update
Tries to keep the drivers up to date, which is a good idea except driver updates usually stop year to two years after the machine has gone to market.
Alternative is of course to check/update them yourself so.. yes, it is safe to uninstall if you want.
-Splendid video thing?
well... matter of taste, you wont die without it.
-USB charge plus
Boosts USB charging capabilities to a degree, past that, totally optional.
-ATK package
Adds functionality to hotkeys (fn, possibly some others), touchpad, light sensor (dims screen if you are in dark to save power) keyboard light (if present) and onscreen display and possibly few others. Since you can do same things in other ways too with more difficulty, you can remove it if you want.
-Dropbox and evernote
I don't use myself so they are up to personal preference.
-Google chrome
If you don't like it, use browser of your own choice and remove it.
-Intel, Qualcomm and Realtek things
Drivers for various parts of the Eeebook, if you want to live without functionality of said parts, yes, they ARE uninstallable, benefit of that is... nothing?
-Asus webstorage
Also kind of like dropbox, your preference if you want to use it or not.
-Wildtangent games app
Name says it all.. totally safe to remove
-Winflash
for flashing BIOS from windows, useful if you need to do that, if not.. safe to uninstall.
in short, not all that many of them are "junk" in my opinion. Other brands have far more.
