Need monitor with multi resolution + refresh rate!

Hey, I'm looking for a monitor that is able to do 60hz at 4K, but can also do 1440p at around 120hz.
Do monitors work like that? Can you buy some like this? Curious because I have a BenQ XL2420TE that does 1080p at 144hz and I've adjusted myself to 144hz goodness but also want to upgrade the monitor so I can do 4K on some games where all I can get is 60 fps, but then drive games down to 1440p when I'd like to take advantage of very high frame rate at 120 - 144hz.

Any pointers? Much appreciated! Thanks

There are no monitors that meets your requirements. The only way to get true 144 Hz at 4k, is to buy a 144 Hz monitor, and use Virtual Super Resolution (AMD) or Dynamic Super Resolution (NVIDIA). A 1440p monitor is going to display upscaled 4k better than a 1080p monitor would.

I think you misunderstood it just a bit. I'm looking for a monitor that does 4K at 60hz, but if I go to 1440p, the refresh rate changes to 120hz or 144hz. Anything like that? Otherwise, I'll probably just get a 1440p screen and use super resolution

No, there is nothing like that. The internals of the monitor will only do up to 60 Hz on a 4k monitor, going higher will overclock the internals, to the point it will break, because you're telling it to go faster than what it's able to handle.
