I'm trying to help a friend with a new PC build. We've got the system up and running Windows 10 on an older 500GB hard drive, but he has an 128GB SSD that needs to be integrated.

The primary use is for gaming. What is the best way to set this hardware up?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, that was the impression I got from my basic research.

The hard drive was originally in another PC running an unauthorized version of Win 7 that was upgraded to Win 10, but it would not activate. He went to the Microsoft web site, bought Win 10 Home and it's activated now.

What I need is an outline of how to get a fresh install of 10 on the SSD, and to format the hard drive after. There is nothing on the hard drive (docs, pics, videos, programs, etc.) that is necessary to keep while this is accomplished.

Ok, the only thing I need to know if there is a Windows DVD to do that or not?

If there is no DVD to install Windows, you will need a USB stick with atleast 4GB memory and intall RUFUS:
https://rufus.akeo.ie/

You install the Windows 10 iso here (Might need to open the English version manually, if It's shown in Dutch language. I can't change that.):
https://www.microsoft.com/nl-nl/software-download/windows10

And then you make the USB Windows bootable by following the instructions basically shown by RUFUS.

Make sure that you make the USB drive the primary drive that boots up when you start your PC. And when you've booted into the Windows setup screen just select ''fresh install'' or something along those lines. Should ask you if you want all your storage to be formatted. Nothing more you have to do.
