Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

I recently upgraded my HP Pavilion 15 ab029TX laptop to windows 10. After windows installation I went ahead and downloaded and installed the drivers for my 940M from the Nvidia website. I also used driver identifier to install something like the PCI controller which worked but still there is no luck.I have tried multiple drivers and safe mode in windows and disabled the Microsoft display adapter and now anytime I open advanced display settings or dxdiag it only identifies Microsoft display adapter and by the way there are no exclamation marks in my device manager.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by installing Intel graphics card driver.
- Here's the link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp73501-74000/sp73572.exe
- Once installed, reboot your laptop.
- Next is to install the NVIDIA graphics driver.
- Here's the link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71979.exe
- Once you've install both, reboot your PC again then check Device Manager if both graphics card will be listed normally under Display Adapter.

Okay I'll give it a shot. Both of them are already listed normally and are shown as working properly. Please Help!!

I tried the solution given by Laptop_Nerd and games work with Nvidia graphics card after picking the the card in the Nvidia Control Settings. But windows still operates using the intel HD graphics. How can I fix this??!!??

dedicated GPU will only used when running program using high graphic performance

Why So? My other PC uses my Graphics Card for everything at all times including windows.

what is the CPU??
seems, that your other PC CPU don't have integrated GPU
