Need an upgrade (and some help)

Howdy,

I'm wanting to do some upgrading on the old PC but it's been awhile since I've messed around with it or even thought about upgrading it so I'm kind of clueless at the moment. It starts up slowly and gets sluggish when I try to do too many simple tasks at once. Here's what I have:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
GPU: GeForce GTX 550 Ti
RAM: Kingston DDR3 667MHz 16GB
MB: Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3

I've set aside roughly $400 for this. Thank you.

As the CPU isnt bad, you can upgrade your GPU to a newer card. If you want to speed up your start up times, buy an SSD and install your OS on that drive. It depends on what you really want to do with it. You can also buy new ram sticks with higher frequency, maybe the DDR3 1600.
