Hi Guys

I don't have a hard n fast budget as such but didn't want to go crazy over here with a top of the line build. My last PC I built (which was also my first) is about 3-4 years old now. It is starting to play up in all sorts of areas so I thought it best to just build a new one from scratch.

I have an OS disk to load and also a 28" 1440p monitor to mate it with. I am hoping that this build will be a nice enough PC that will give me another 3-4 years possibly, and with the option to perhaps SLI if required / needed at 18-24 month mark.

I don't really have much clue on this stuff so any advice you guys can shed would be appreciated. I will have to source the parts locally (From NZ) but more just wanting to ensure that this is a decent enough build. My preference is for Intel Vs AMD and also Nvidia for a gfx card.

The cooler I will look to get will be the Hyper 212 -but couldn't find it in the picker, but can get here still.

thanks in advance

I would move up to the gtx 980 or 980 ti if your at 1440P

the 750 W is good for a single card you could drop to a 650 W or get a good tier 1 850W to sli latter

i would go WD for the HDD seagate have a higher fail rate IMO

FYI i have a gtx 980 ti on a rog Swift 1440p i can play games at ultra setting with a few games at 50 + FPS GTA v TW3

you could do the 970 with lower setting and if its not to your likings you could sli them in a few months but the 6 gigs of Vram is nice to have tho for higher res

Thanks - will the PSU I have selected work to power to 970's in SLI? I am just aware that the 980 over here is still quite a lot more than the 970 - I use this PC pretty much only for gaming and some photo editing. The games I play are L4D2, TF2, EOS, Skyrim, and Fallout 3 & 4 . Have the current COD as well but don't play it really.

The 750W will be good for a 2X970s ( yes you have a good one there ) Tier 1 PSU

1440P will hold back the GPU SLI down the road will be the way to go.

my gtx 980 ti gets about 50+ fps in all my gaemes at ultra

i am guess you should be able to get high settings with 45 + fps
