dell inspiron 15 3000 series wont let me type in the password to 'open' the computer. The curser moves, I can raise the first screen to uncover the password login screen , but the password box won't let me 'click' on it, and typing yields nothing. Help!!

Is this installation of Windows 10 anew or one availed through the free upgrade path? If this issue began after a mandatory Windows update then try and perform a system restore prior to when it began?

Could you be a little specific with your Dell's Laptop model number? You can also enter your information here and see if there are necessary BIOS updates alongside drivers for your trackpad and keyboard.
