Dell Monitor U2415 -- using lower resolutions

The Max Resolutions is 1920x1200.

What happens if I choose the 1600x1200 resolution?

a) The screen will occupy the whole monitor...
b)Or I will end up with a smaller monitor with black
images on the sides? ( Like 160 black-1600 image--- 160 black)

Is it possible to choose beetween a or b ?

Your monitor or GPU will scale to fit, this introduces a blur.

Your monitor or GPU can be set to force aspect ratio, in order to maintain 1:1 pixel mapping. No blur, but areas of the screen will display nothing but black.
