Setting up a new gaming rig, flexible budget (thinking of GTX 970 or higher)

Hi there, I have been using my current rig (as below) since 2010. It has served me well but lately I have been having trouble playing games like Far Cry 4/ Grand Theft Auto V etc so I thought maybe it's time for a overhaul.

I have asked around for advice and some of the feedback I've gotten was that I only needed to change my GPU, keeping the rest constant. What do you guys think? What if I get a GTX 970? Will there be a performance bottleneck?

There is no doubt there will be a bottleneck, so either overclock your cpu or buy a new one :(

Toodles.
