Will updating ASUS H170 Pro-Gaming MOBO BIOS after loading Win 10 cause Win10 to require reactivation?

Just completed new build with ASUS H170 Pro-Gaming motherboard (Rev. 1.03). I downloaded retail version of Win 10 and then upgraded Win10 to version 1151 (Nov. update). Everything is working so I went to website listed below to update the ASUS BIOS and drivers and before downloading anything I read that some people were having issues with Win 10 requiring reactivation after they updated their motherboard's BIOS.

Sounds like Win 10 views a BIOS update as a new "computer" and requires reactivation. Anyone know if this is a universal issue, or just related to specific motherboards and how to get it resolved? Appreciate input.

Hi,

Unfortunately it's not just with your motherboard that this will happen even other laptop or PC built. Windows will think that it's a new motherboard specially is the BIOS update will change some settings drastically. The only solution with this kind of issue is to contact Microsoft Phone activation system or sticking with the current version of BIOS you have as long as it doesn't really need one.

Here's a MSI support link which they had the same problem.

Status update:
I was able to successfully update the MB BIOS to latest version (0601) without any Windows 10 reactivation issues. Not sure if this was because I purchased the full retail version of Windows 10, or just got lucky.
