I'm running an IPS 1440p 144hz g-sync monitor currently, powered by a GTX690. Performance wise, I'm still happy with it...

Rise of the Tomb Raider is out on 1/28, and I'm very tempted to upgrade to a GTX980ti because the game is bundled for free.

Only problem is my gut tells me to wait for Pascal in 2016 to upgrade then...

What do you guys think?

I wonder how much I can get for that GTX690 on eBay nowadays....

The 980 Ti is definitely faster. The thing is nearly as fast as a Titan Z according to Nvidia's charts. As to if it's worth it... that's your problem, my friend :)

I'd say go with your gut. They're usually right.

Pascal will be a big deal mid to late 2016, but ultimately the gtx 980ti will get you well through the next couple of years unless you go for a huge 4k setup. Your current monitor setup will see no issues. If you have the money to upgrade and want that game bundle then yes the 980ti is a nice upgrade from the 690 memory wise and a bit speed wise.

Only wait on pascal if you are happy with the 690...and you should be...that's an amazing card.

2gb ram is the only concern for me, but I find I can play with High Settings and AA low or off.
Still looks amazing, and framerates at 80-100FPS in most games...

Guess I will hold back for now...

2gig is on the low side. My cousin has a 1 gig card that still swings most games at low to medium. Unless there is a massive jump then 2gig is fine with lowered/off AA. AA isn't a massive change, especially at 180 anyhow.
