Hello.

Building a new PC since my old one sort of died and because its 6 year old tech. I intend to use this pc for things like rendering, youtube vids, light gaming etc. I have checked all the components myself but I am not very PC savvy, and I would appreciate some advice from the community about compatibility and if not this will suit my needs.

The budget for my previous build was $1100 so I aimed for that this time, however this is more towards the $1300 mark. (this is supposed to be budget..)

Cpu: Intel core i5 6600 lga 1151
Motherboard: Gigabyte ga-z170-hd3
Gpu: Gigabyte gtx 950 wf2 OC edition
Ram: 2x 4gb 2133 DDR4
Ssd/Storage: Crucial bx100 250gb & and some old 500gb seagate barracuda :D
Cpu/cooler: Hyper 212x
Psu: Antec edge 550w 80+ gold

I went with DDR4 because apparently DDR3 is too slow for skylake, that and the fact DDR4 is basically identical in price at 8gb. I can also oc the memory a little if need be with this motherboard since it supports xmp, cant I?. Im also concerned about the psu, under full load this pc should use roughly 465w? (my calculations) which is 84-85% of the psu, however I probably wont ever have it that high. Do I need more wattage/headroom for maybe a better gpu down the line? or maybe up the current oc past factory?

Thanks in advance :)

Much better build for under $1000,
Xeon 1231 V3 which is just as fast as most I7's and a 390 that will decimate any game at 1080P

Thanks for the reply kwa-e! I probably should have noted im not from the states. By the time I ordered all that + shipping (even if I could), the price would be insane.
The R9/390 alone is $500+ here lol.

Give me your budget in AUD, I'll try my best to fit the best components within that. All the shops will be local to AUS so shipping shouldn't be too high.

How about this?

Just remember to get a PSU case fan adapter since the MB only supports 2 fans. (3 fans total)
