Hello, I'm currently running into a problem with my monitor when i try to change my resolution to 1440 x 1080. I'm using a program called "CRU.exe" (Custom resolution utility), and i tried to add the resolution, but it wont pop up (in game and desktop resolution)

Shown here: http://i.imgur.com/h2tWsc3.png

So i read a guide that says i need to add it to the custom resolution area (detailed resolutions), and when i do that, its exceeds my monitors Hz, and crashes it / says "input not supported" , so idk what to do.. If anybody could help that'd be great! Thanks!

Every-time i try and change the HZ it auto sets to something else:

In that case, set your game to run at 1024x1280. You can also try setting your display to that resolution and selecting the "maintain aspect ratio" option in the AMD control. You may need to play around to minimize latency. Running at anything other than native resolution can slow some monitors down.
You have two issues. The second is easier to tackle, so I'll start there: you can either set the refresh rate or horizontal refresh, but not both. The numbers have to work together. Set your refresh to 60 Hz and the utility will automatically choose what the horizontal refresh NEEDS to be.

Your main problem is more difficult. Not all monitors can support just any resolution. It sounds like your monitor does not support 1440x1080. That's not too surprising since it's not a standard resolution. There may be a way to work around the limitation by having your GPU scale the resolution up to your native resolution by adding black bars, but you should first be sure that you really want to run your monitor at this weird resolution.

First issue: when i change the overall refresh rate to 60, it increases the horizontal to 67.500. Which is more then my monitor can support

Second: I am using AMD so i think i could do something about "up-scaling" as there is a setting for that. (Adds: I currently run at 1920 x 1080)

First issue: No. You are confusing horizontal and vertical refresh. They are not the same--notice that horizontal is measured in kHz not Hz. Ignore the horizontal.

Second: it's worth messing with to see if you can get it to do what you want. Without knowing why you want such an odd resolution, it's hard to help more.

I'm trying to get better quality in a game called "counter-strike", and people recommend to use such resolution to make your game quality look better and make it look more smooth / cleaner at that scale (4:3).
