Best 1440P monitor for gaming 21:9 or 16:9?

Im in the market for a 1440P monitor all I do is game and I have a GTX 970 now the question is should I go 16:9 or 21:9 I love eye candy the better it looks the more immerse I get budget is 300-400.

Will you be adding a second 970 eventually? If so, then either would be great....but 21:9 is great way to get a better FOV while gaming.

Either way you do go though.....keep in mind that 1440p has twice the pixels of 1080p. The 970 is a wonderful card for 1080p gaming, but at 1440p it will require setting and detail compromises to keep your FPS up. If the most important thing is eye candy, then you may find with a single 970, you get more details than are possible at 1440p (of course, game dependent).

I understand I'm not planing on adding a second GTX 970 I was going to wait till the next generation come out the 10 series or what ever nvidia will call there next line-up. I want to get 1440P monitor and lower my settings down abit what ever is more future proof for the money is 21:9 here to stay?
