Hello,

I am looking to purchase an ASRock Z170 Pro4 for a upcoming build.

This board has a single M.2 Ultra port which I plan to use. I am also thinking about purchasing an additional 4 lane M.2 PCIe expansion card to add a second SSD. This board supports Intel Rapid Storage technology as well as NVMe disks for boot.

Can anyone foresee any problems if I attempt to setup both M.2 devices in a RAID 0 configuration?

SSDs in RAID tends to be strongly not recommended. There's significant reliability issues, plus SSDs tend to get faster pretty linearly with the amount of flash on board. Especially as the bus isn't as much of a bottleneck with PCIe-based SSDs.

Plus one big SSD is usually cheaper than two smaller ones.

I can't say for certain whether it supports it or not, but I don't think you should do it in the first place.
