Hi, I'm looking for the best 22-24" monitor for less than $200 USD. I want an IPS panel, but I do game occasionally, so if the TN panel is good enough, I might consider getting one. It's not completely necessary, but if would be nice if the height was adjustable. I like Asus' products, but I'm open to other companies. I have an Asus GTX 980 and motherboard if it matters. I might buy a second one in the future, so small bezels are better.

Thanks!

Asus Monitors I've been considering, in order of preference:

Thanks for your suggestion. Two questions:
1. Is the 23" one the same as the 25" one other than the fact that it's smaller? The reviews make it seem like they're different.
2. Is there a black model?

Edit: The black model is this: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-21-5-Inch-HDMI-Monitor/dp/B015WCV70W/ref=zg_bs_1292115011_1
I would go with that, but 21.5" is too small, and white would look extremely out of place on my desk. Any other suggestions?

The 25xw and 27xw are different that their smaller counterparts, they have a vastly superior panel with better colors and overdrive, to say the least. When you are in front of them you can also see the much lighter coating the bigger ones use (1% haze coating instead of matte coating). So I cannot suggest the smaller counterparts.

If color bothers you, there is the cw series that is similar to all but the color of the casing with the xw series, which is black. Currently it does not have great availability, but I am sure that it will have soon.

As of now I do not make any other suggestions, since all the alternatives to this price range are vastly inferior.

Ok, so just to confirm before I buy, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824276197 is much better than http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236335 , right? I'd rather have a good screen than a black case, so I'll go with the white one as long as it's much better.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, the HP is definately better than the Asus. The Asus uses PWM dimming too, which is something you should avoid.

Enjoy your new monitor. I have bought recently the HP 27cw and I can guarranty you that these are fantastic monitors!

As always though, you may be unlucky and receive a monitor with quality control issues. In this case you should replace it immediately, so make sure to buy from a reseller with proper after-sales support and return policies.
