DVI-D single or dual link?

i have a 24" monitor 1920x1080 60Hz... i get screen tearing playing ultra setting games i have 2gb gtx 960 GPU i don't have any lags with ultra setting with games.. i currently have HDMI display cable so i thought maybe screen tearing is cause by playing ultra but my gpu cant handle it.. so i tried lowest settings and V-Sync on still i get screen tearing. my drivers are updated. so maybe its the cable? my monitor and gpu has DVI-D dual link and im thinking about.. if DVI-D single link is good enough for my monitor or should i get dual link for better performance? cause i already got dvi-d single but if dual link will be better then im going to buy one

At 1080p60Hz, You don't need dual-link DVI because a single link has enough bandwidth. However, I don't see any reason why having a dual-link cable would cause screen tearing.

If you get tearing with vsync on then either vsync is off or the setting is being ignored by an override somewhere or due to a bug.
