Dvi/vga to hdmi

My query is that i want new monitor and the monitor i have selected has a vga and hdmi port and i want to use hdmi port but the prob is that my cpu has dvi and vga port only only no hdmi port so i want to ask that can i use dvi to hdmi cable(bluerigger dvi to hdmi)?? Will it work same and properly?? And what about sound output with that??

Hi, DVI to HDMI should work, but no sound.

No problem. The DVI does not provide sound, therefore the cable would not carry sound signel.
