When my monitor looks at the colour black, it makes red lines over it

The title say it all, when i bought the monitor it was looking fine but then after a while i can't usually see the colour black without seeing red lines over it.
My monitor is 1920x1080 22" by proview if that helps.
I bought the monitor secound hand and i'm not sure how much the last owner used it.
I took a picture of it, can it be fixed or is it just the monitor becoming old?

try the monitor on another computer to see if the problem still happens or not. trying to see if the monitor or something else is causing the issue.

On my old pc it still did it

same video cable or different? what cable are you using? trying to see if monitor itself is the issue or your video cable.

At the moment I use a dvi cable because my graphics card only uses dvi, hdmi and a display port where on the monitor there is only dvi and vga.

Oh and i have used 2 different dvi cables and it still does it

Ok it's older then i thought

as the monitor uses a power adapter means there is only 1 main logic board in it & I think that board is dying slowly or has 1 or more domed capacitors that can be replaced if you are technical enough.
