windows 10 wont accept my password

my laptop just told me that it couldn't install updates, then logged out. I haven't been able to log in since yesterday, it just wont accept my password.
what should I do?

Possibly something has happened to the user account. Try booting to win 10 media and running a startup repair

If you have Repair Disc, try booting with it. That worked for me. If you don't have a repair disc, and have another win 10 computer with your microsoft password, you could make a repair disc from that computer.

I really, really hope this works for you. After hours and hours of trying everything, I was about to give up and install Linux, when I remembered that I'd made a repair disc. Good luck!
