Hi Everyone, new cat here. Just wanted to share my first high end PC build with you guys. Going with a black and Gold theme with Red Led lighting. Over the next few days I will post pics of my build and it's overall progress. For starters here is a list of the overall components for my build.

CPU: Core I7 4790K
Mobo: Asus Z97-A
Ram: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2400 (Gold)
PSU: Corsair RM850
GPU: Asus GTX 970 Strix OC
Mid Tower: Corsair Obsidian 350D
Front intake Fans: 2 Corsair 140SP (Red) Front
Rear Exaust Fan: stock 120mm Corsair fan
Cooler: Corsair H100i
Boot drive: 2 Mushkin 240GB SSD
Storage Drives: 3 Seagate Barracuda 3tb ea.
Keyboard: Razor Chroma Blackwidow
Mouse: Razor Chroma Mamba
Mouse Pad: Razor Firefly
Monitor: 6 yr. old Dell 24" 1080p (Model unknown)
OS dual boot win 7 Pro & Win 10

Red LED Strips for inner tower
Braided black and gold Cables
Acer Predator X34 34" 21:9 Curved IPS Gaming Monitor
New Gaming Chair

I recommend BitFenix Alchemy 2.0 LED stripes. They're magnetic and nice all around. Your 970 won't be able to play newer games on high settings at that resolution without some stuttering/low FPS. I don't know if you really didn't care, if you were gonna be playing on medium-ish settings anyway.
 


gET AN evga g2 850 and you will be good.

As for playing games at that res. I don't plan on buying the Acer Predator anytime soon. I'll be doing 1080p still for at least another year or so while I pay off everything.

I'll check out the LED Strips, I like the idea of Magnetic ones.

So yesterday I started with the build and after installing the Fan's, PSU and managing some of the cables to the rear I got ready to drop in the motherboard. Ah S)#(@ the case is for Micro ATX mobo's. Back to Amazon and placed a order for the Corsair 450D. Thought about the 700D but I really don't need a full size, I'll stick with the mid size tower for now.
