I just tried booting my new (and first) build.
Intel i7 6700k
ASUS Maximus viii Hero Alpha
Corsair h100i water cooler
G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3466
ASUS Strix nvidia geforce gtx 980 ti
Enermax Platimax 1350w
When i plug it in the mobo and the gpu light up. When i press the power button the power turns on for a second and then off. This repeats until i turn off the power at the power source. There is no POST beep. Nothing appears in the monitor. I referred to the mobo manual. The error light for the CPU is lighting up.
What could have happened to my CPU? I never touched the mobo socket nor did i touch the bottom of the CPU. I lined up the CPU with the socket notches. I believe that I installed the water cooler correctly.
This is my first build ever. I watched several videos on how to install a CPU and i did exactly what the people on the video did.
Please help.
