Need advise for above average Gaming parts.( Budget 800-1000€)

Hello, as title says i need same advise about parts for gaming pc, since i didn't keep track with current tech trends. Currently i am using Amd athlon x635 , msi gtx 760 , and same medium level gigabity motherboard. As for parts i want to change CPU ,motherboard(ram if needed) and maybe GPU so i could play most games 1080p 60fps .I like play strategy / RPG games (Starcraft 2, Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and so on.) I my budget 800-1000 €.

PS. I have my old ssd so i wont be need new one. And my current PSU is 600w coirsar gamer serries

Gpu- NVIDIA gtx 980
Processor- i5 or i7 or some amd equivalent
Ram - 6gb is more than enough...
Bettr chek the power requirements before buying them.

With what CPU generation to go Haswel, Broadwell (As i understand its just upgraded haswell) or Skylake? I dont mind changing ram if will give better performance. And what about motherboard? I was looking at z170 chips ar the worth it?
