I would like to upgrade my CPU from the i3 I currently have to an i5. Both CPUs are 1150 sockets and the motherboard does support the new i5 I would like to install. My concern is once I do the swap do I have to do anything? Re-load drivers, OS, anything? Or, will the motherboard recognize the new CPU without incident?

First: You need to be sure to have update your BIOS.
Second, you need to be sure the motherboard supports the generation of the CPU.

If you still have question, post your motherboard, current CPU and new CPU to install.

The motherboard is an ASUS H97M-PLUS with the Intel Core i3-4370 Haswell Dual-Core 3.8 GHz which I would like to upgrade to the Intel Core i5-4590 Haswell Quad-Core 3.3 GHz.

At worse you'll have to go into Device Manager, delete all processors and reboot for Windows to recognize the new CPU.
