Hey folks,
I have a PC with Windows 7 OEM on it. Suppose (hypothetically) I go out to a store and actually purchase the retail version of Windows 10 (not the free upgrade). If I install it over the Windows 7 OEM, will the retail license "supersede" the OEM version? In other words, If I install the retail version of 10 and the motherboard goes bad and I build a new system, will I be able to install that same retail version of Windows 10 on it? Or will it be forever tied to the old PC because of the Windows 7 OEM? (Keep in mind, I'm purchasing the retail version. Not getting the free upgrade.)
Thanks
