Is there a drawback to using dual channel memory in a quad channel motherboard? For example, lets say I have an ASROCK X99 Killer ATX Motherboard (a quad channel board). Would there be a drawback to using 4 sticks of 4GB dual channel memory instead of 4 sticks of 4GB quad channel memory?

Thanks in advance?

"dual channel" memory is just a matched pair of sticks that vendors sell, the RAM sticks themselves are neither dual nor quad channel, so using two sets of "dual channel" sticks is fine. But for best results they should be the same model.
