ASUS VN279Q not running the specified 75hz

I recently got a new desktop and my monitor as the title says won't let me select 75hz which I believe the monitor is (I may be wrong). The only choices are 50, 59, or 60. Could this be related to screen tearing in anyway? I am connected to my computer using DisplayPort rather than HDMI.
