Internet Explorer and Edge not accessing Internet

I am on Win 10 and can only access the internet with Firefox. When I try to connect with Edge I get the error message "Hmmm, we can't reach this page" and if I try through Internet Explorer I get "This page can’t be displayed". Chrome seems to work along with Firefox, but both will freeze quite often. Any suggestions?

I think I have google on Internet explorer and Bing search for edge.

May be some malware. Check control panel, internet options, connections, lan settings. See if proxy server is checked, if so un-check it. Not sure about edge...

That did it. Had a proxy setting set.....http://127.0.0.1:16823/proxy_on.pac. Unchecked that and now IE and Edge both work. That proxy appears to be a remnant from the anonimizer Lantern that I sometimes use.
