Is whindows 10 causing my computer to restart?

Hello! For a while now when ever I'm playing a game or just whenever, my pc freezes then goes to a blue screen saying that its going to restart. It also says error: VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (ddkmd.sys). I don't know why or how but does this have to do with Windows 10 since it did not happen when I had windows 8 but this didn't happen near the beginning of when I had windows 10 either so I don't know what is causing my computer to freeze and then restart itself while I'm in the middle of a game. If you know the problem or think you know how to fix it then please let me know, thanks!
