Hello,
I really need some help here. My Win10 work computer has crashed the night before last.
Between 20:30 and 09:30 the next morning, it crashed 116 times. Wonderful Microsoft, way to save the damn hardware, great OS there!

I spent yesterday doing a Dell Optiplex 7020 complete hardware system check, booting into Safe mode, verifying backups, doing a System Restore, and capturing the Event Log.
The results of yesterday:
Dell Optiplex 7020 hardware system check was 100% successful
Safe Mode (without Networking) ran for hours without one crash.
Backups are Verified
System Restore was successful, but failed to solve the problem. Still crashes.

Can anyone offer any suggestions with this?
Thanks,
Phil

Solution
Hi,

I have the problem solved. I reinstalled Windows and I am starting from scratch.
Frustrating, and cost me some days of productivity.
Thank you all who helped me along.

It may be right on the edge of not being able to provide enough power.
Safe mode may not stress it hard enough to die. So it passes the basic test.
Crank it up in normal mode, poof, it dies.

Humm, that's an interesting thought. I need the networking, and use dual display. I have 24GB of RAM and an 'AMD Radeon™ R5 240, 1GB, Half Height' video card. I wonder if I can turn off (or remove?) the video card to test this theory out. Would this be the simplest and most effective way to lower the amp draw?

I don't know. I will have to open it up.

Here is the PSU:
Dell-PC_PSU.jpg

I also checked out the PC internals, did some dusting, checked the PSU connections, and removed the AMD video card. Then I restarted. The PC ran a few minutes longer, then had the same failure.

That would point against to high an amp draw and perhaps the PSU is just faulted. Does this sound accurate?
I posted this onto MS help site too and they are asking for the dmp files.
I still need to get those and I will post them here too.
Thanks,
Phil
