I am having trouble deciding what to get:
- 3440 x 1440 (FLAT) = £550
- 3 x 1080 x 1920 (3 x 24") = £540
- 3840 x 2160 (40" monitor) = £500

I have a 980ti, so the 4k is pushing it a bit...

Displayport is a must, if not HDMI 2.0... I only have 1 HDMI port though.

If 4k Gaming, buy a gsync 4k pannel.

sell 980 ti when pascal comes out and upgrade.

1440p looks like 1080p to me, you cant beat 2160p - it's staggeringly beautiful.
Most demanding games run @ 40fps with MSAA turned off.
dont buy tripple monitors - i used to own 3 x 24" IPS pannels well...i wouldn't recommend it anyway... its novelty wears off quickly.

This is where people have different opinions and there is no right or wrong. I like fast fps and racing games so 144Hz at 1440p gets my vote. It seems unlikely Pascal will be strong enough even in sli for 4k 144Hz. But if pure picture quality is important then 4k 60Hz might be better for you

Okay then, I've found 3 monitors...
1. Asus PG278Q
2. Asus MG279Q
3. Acer Predator XB281HK

I like driving simulators, battlefield and cs:go.

The 4k seems better for sims, but I spend more time on FPS's, and I can always get more of the 1440p monitors.

On the contrary, the 4k would be more immersive and is cheaper than the G-Sync model of the 144hz 1440p.

Would I need the G SYNC for the 144hz 1440p? I've heard that ghosting and frame drops are less noticable on 144hz panels than 60hz.

Cheers,

Do you think this would be better than the PG278Q for the £80 difference? The only major difference is that the panel you showed is IPS (understandably better, but TN should work for the mostpart).

Thanks for the monitor though - I'll keep it in mind and search for cheaper options than OC'ers (I find that they overprice monitors unless there's a 10%+ saving)

EDIT: It's already on sale from £700? That's on hefty price tag o_O
