Asus Rog Swift PG278Q 2560 x 1440 downscale to 1080p

Hey there,

I'm getting a Asus Rog Swift PG278Q which has a native resolution of 2560 x 1440. My question is that if I downscale it to 1080p (1920 x 1080) (meaning use the monitor as a 1080p.) will there be any repercussions? I want to do that because I want to play games on Ultra and get at least an fps of 144, due to the 144hz option.

Based on the stuff that I've read in online forums, GSYNC module only works in the full 2560x1440 mode. That could be the only downside to it.
